Zimbabwe

Land of Majestic Waterfalls

Zimbabwe; From Victoria Falls to Wild Safaris

Following the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, an ancient ruined city in the southeast of the country, Zimbabwe takes its name from Shona. A few examples of Zimbabwe's diversity are its strong rivers, magnificent waterfalls, and breathtaking wildlife views. One of the seven wonders of the world, along with the powerful Zambezi, is Victoria Falls.

Places to Explore

Here are some of the top destinations in Zimbabwe

Hwange National Park

Hwange National Park, which is more than 14,000 square kilometers in size, juts back toward the eastern edge of the Kalahari Desert. Victoria Falls is approximately an hour away from Zimbabwe's largest national park. There are 400 different species of birds, 100 mammal species, and one of the biggest populations of elephants in the world in Hwange. There are concentrations of buffaloes, zebras, rhinos, and giraffes in the national park, so it's not just for elephant lovers. Hwange is typically home to all of Zimbabwe's animals, including herds of brown hyenas that are allowed to roam freely. Take part in a range of activities in Hwange, such as strolling during the day or at night or simply lounging at the campsite. View the park's surroundings, one of Zimbabwe's most picturesque and pristine locations. If you skip the park, your itinerary might not be complete.

Mana Pools National Park

In the center of the Zambezi Valley, on the Zambezi River, is a World Heritage Site. Named for the four main pools close to the park headquarters, mana means "four" in Shona. The vast lakes and lovely rivers that are brought about by the summer rains are a photographer's dream come true, as are the breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife. Wildlife such as buffaloes, elephants, zebras, antelopes, and impalas abound in the Zambezi wetlands. The growls of hyenas, lions, leopards, hippos, and wild dogs can be heard in the distance. Experience the wonders of Mana Pools, go on a foot safari, or, for those seeking even more adventure, go on a day or year-long canoe safari. It's a fantastic way to see a 300-kilometer waterway that ends at the border with Mozambique. Other pursuits include hiking and star study that you can watch the dark sky of the night light up.
